Field Trip to WDLM Christian Radio Station

This morning we were fortunate enough to be able to join our local home-school group, CHALK, on a field trip to our local Christian Radio Station, WDLM.  WDLM is an affiliate of the Moody Radio program based in Chicago, IL.  We were excited for this field trip because none of us have ever been to a radio station before.  In fact, my dad even joined us for this trip.  He was just as excited as my oldest daughter.  :)
We got to see how the show is broadcast.
Our field trip guides, Angie and Deb showed us how some shows are pre-taped as well as how live shows are broadcast.  Our exciting trip included the children getting to say "good morning" which was taped and will be played at 7:15am on 9/9/10.

Above is a picture of some of the computer equipment that is used at the studio.

Above is the studio where shows can be pre-recorded and edited for future radio use.
Emilee got to record something.  She was nervous.  Can you tell? :)

Here is Dave Jolly.  He is the Station Manager as well as Host of Daybreak. Dave is sitting where live radio shows take place.

We had an amazing time learning about how Christian radio is put together here in the Quad Cities.  If you like, you can listen to WDLM on channel 89.3 FM.
